Some widows of Andek council benefitted from the largesse of madame Mbah Acha Igxtelle Bopgima , (daughter of H.E Minister Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam) yesterday, 24th Dec. 2025 as a total sum of 986,000F CFA was distributed by Lord mayor Ubangoh Helly, acting on the behalf of the donor. This enabled each widow to receive the sum of 34,000F CFA for the celebration of Christmas.
Yesterday, the 24th December was therefore a memorable day in Andek Municipality, as 29 widows of the municipality received this Christmas gift from the aforenamed benefactor.
This humanitarian ceremony that touches on the lives of not only the widows, but of many others who depend on these widows, was witnessed by the Divisional Officer for Ngie Sub Division, Mr. Oteh Philip Bache.
The Lord mayor of Andek Council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, on the behalf of the people of Andek municipality, joined the beneficiaries to thank the donor, Ms. Mbah Acha Igxtelle, who is neither an elite of the municipality nor has ever been to the municipality for this rare demonstration of generosity.
Mayor Ubangoh Helly also thanked Her Excellency Minister Mbah Acha Rose, who is the biological mother of Mbah Acha Igxtelle, for bringing Andek Municipality to the limelight and facilitating the gesture. Like Oliver Twist, the widows appealed to Her Excellency The Minister not to relent in searching for more opportunities for them.
This day, the 24th December, coincided as Andek market day. The widows happily moved into the market to buy essential things for the celebration of Christmas.
