This vote of THANKS from the people of Ngie Subdivision in general and the villages of TEZE, ANDEK and TINECHUNG, in particular, came during the presentation of the contractors to realize these huge projects, at the TEZE and Andek sites, by the Lord Mayor of Andek council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly.

The Lord Mayor, comrade UBANGOH HELLY , flanked by the First Deputy Mayor, Mr. Tchekoh Akende John, accompanied by the CDO of Andek Council with other technical staff, on Tuesday 30-12-2025, officially presented the contractor for the construction of the ultra modern markets in Teze, Andek and Tinechung.

The ceremony that took place at the Teze market site, was  attended by the chairperson of Teze traditional Council, sitting in for the fon; Quarter Heads, Neighborhood Coordinators, local dignitaries and a cross section of the local population.

In his presentation speech at the TEZE Market square, Lord Mayor Ubangoh Helly, appealed to the people of the beneficiary villages to possess these projects as provided for by the law on decentralization, with respect to citizens participation in their development. There were tasked to protect the project and the workers, and participate in the realization. That the community should also exploit their environment and participate in the execution to make some money for their community, in such aspects as,

– provision of basic local building materials

– ⁠provision of cheap and moderate labour( to avoid the contractor from ferrying in cheaper labour from out of the municipality),

– ⁠provision of social services such as restauration, transportation, etc.

Mr. Nbunyu Hyson Budi, who was representing the contractor,was visibly pleased with the reception and the hospitality accorded him and his team.

He promised to realize the project in record time.

There were many other speakers, notably the fon’s representative, who expressed a grateful heart and thanked the Lord Mayor for what he is doing not only for the people of Teze but Ngie sub Division as whole.

The representative of the Fon assured the population and the contractor of their unflinching support.

The Lord Mayor used the occasion to announce to the people of TEZE that he shall soon come back to install,

– the contractor for the Mbat bridge

– ⁠the contractor for the TEZE ANDEK Ajei road and

– the contractor for the Teze Ring road, stretching from  Akaah to Akugum.

Mr, Ngala Herbert, representing Kaplan control mission expressed confidence that the LINCOCO Engineering Company is up to the challenge and also called for understanding and cooperation between the workers and the beneficiary population, to work in synergy in order to achieve their goal.

A similar exercise took place in Andek on the same day, where the contractor who is to construct the Andek Market and that of Tinechung was also presented to the population in the presence of the administration.

It is worth mentioning that this project to construct three ultra modern markets in Andek Council area are coming up now because the former contractor abandoned the job, which was cancelled and awarded to other contractors.

Each of these three  ultra modern markets shall have:

• a solar powered borehole water supply system
• modern water system toilets with sections separated for ladies and
• It shall be a 38 sheds lockup market, with many other facilities.
