Friday, 18th, 2025 marked the beginning of another chapter in the relationship between Andek Council and the Local Governance and Resilient Communities Project (PROLOG), as both parties signed the first financing project worth 24 millions FCFA for the construction of the Abebung potable water supply scheme.
The funding from PROLOG worth 24,000,000f represents 40% of the Performance Based Grant won by Andek council, for the year 2025.
In receiving the funding documents, the Lord Mayor of Andek Council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, thanked the Head of state, President Paul Biya, for the wonderful initiative to create PROLOG as a peace building measure for the crisis in the NW, SW and other crisis stricken Regions of Cameroon.
The Mayor pledged to work even harder to qualify for the remaining 60% of the Performance Based Grand and the other bigger windows of PROLOG funding.
Mayor Ubangoh Helly has announced that this initial funding from PROLOG shall sponsor the construction of the Abebung potable water scheme. He has assured other communities who also expressed the need for the construction of potable water schemes and other projects that their turn shall surely come in the nearest future as he continues to source for more funding for the municipality.
Meanwhile, the Regional Coordinator of PROLOG, Dr. YESSI ANTHONY, congratulated Andek council for their performance that qualified them for the grant and encouraged the Lord Mayor to make sure the project is executed to its fullest, for the benefit of the population.
