National Day Celebrations – 20th May 2026, at Andek
The National Day celebrations held on 20th May 2026 were marked by an exceptionally high turnout and notable developments at Andek .
For the first time since his election, the Member of Parliament, Honorable AWUTAH Philip Atubah, attended the event, demonstrating increased engagement with local constituents.
A key highlight was the participation of students and pupils in full school uniforms during the march past. This was made possible through the initiative of the Lord Mayor. Ubangoh HELLY, who fulfilled his pledge to provide uniforms to all secondary schools and selected primary schools. The initiative was undertaken in recognition of the nickname “Talk na do” conferred upon him by the Section President, reflecting his commitment to delivering on public commitments.
The ceremony also included awards of recognition presented to deserving individuals for their role in restoring normalcy in Andek. Their contributions were publicly acknowledged before the population of the municipality…
Cultural performances, including traditional dances and singing, further graced the occasion and added to the celebratory atmosphere.
The presence of uniformly dressed students significantly enhanced the ceremonial proceedings.
We take this opportunity to appeal to other local elites and stakeholders to support and expand this initiative. The program is scheduled to continue next week and will be extended in subsequent years to ensure broader coverage.
