ANDEK COUNCIL HANDS OVER ULTRA-MODERN NURSERY BLOCK AT GNS ANDEK
Andek, 5th June 2026 – Andek Council on Friday handed over a new ultra-modern nursery school complex at Government Nursery School, GNS Andek, in a ceremony attended by education stakeholders and community members.
The Lord Mayor, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, officially presented the facility to the school administration and population of Andek. The Divisional Officer for Ngie Sub-Division, Mr. Oteh Philip Bache, cut the ribbon.
Built by NUKUNs Enterprise, the complex meets Ministry of Basic Education standards. It features two modern classrooms with surveillance cameras, administrative offices, modern toilets, a perimeter fence, and a full security surveillance system to ensure child safety.
The Lord Mayor said the project reflects Council’s commitment to quality early childhood education. He urged parents who withdrew children from Andek schools to return them, stressing that infrastructure is now ready.
Inspector of Basic Education, Mr. Ngong John, praised the structure and called on the Mayor to replicate similar projects in other schools. Headmistress Ms. Adang Maureen thanked Council but appealed for equipment to fully equip the school.
Community members welcomed the upgrade, noting it will improve access to safe, child-friendly education in Andek Municipality.
