COMMUNIQUE No. 15/2026 ON THE MONITORING OF 2026/2027 SCHOOL RESUMPTION IN NGIE
Andek, 7th September 2026
The Divisional Officer for Ngie Sub Division, Mr. OTEH Philip BACHE and the Lord Mayor of Andek Council, Ubangoh Helly Manyelle Akoba, and their respective entourages, were on the field today, Monday 7th September 2026, to monitor effective resumption of schools for the 2026/2027 academic year in the municipality.
Despite the massive mobilization and sensitization carried out by the administration, the Council, our Traditional Authorities and the Forces of Law and Order to ensure a hitch-free resumption, we were shocked and embarrassed that schools in Ngie were still empty.
In the few schools visited – Government and Denominational – we met a handful of Head Teachers and Principals who answered present, but not a single pupil or student in the classrooms.
This situation is quite embarrassing at a time when all other Sub Divisions in Momo Division and across the North West Region are making concerted efforts to shun the senseless schools boycott madness announced by some radicals to keep our children in ignorance.
If schools in DONGA MANTUNG Division, particularly far off NWA Sub Division could brave the odds and shun the ghost schools call, why not Ngie? Ngie cannot continue to be an exception for backwardness.
WE HEREBY MAKE A PATRIOTIC APPEAL:
We call on our elites, especially those in the diaspora, parents, Fons, Quarter Heads and all people of good will, to intervene by making calls back home, for parents to release their children to return to school immediately.
A minute of study lost can never be recalled. The future of our children cannot be sacrificed.
ADMINISTRATIVE MEASURES:
The Divisional Officer has instructed that names of all absentee teachers, Head Teachers and Principals who failed to answer present today without justification, should be urgently submitted to his office for administrative sanctions to follow in accordance with the regulations in force.
NOTE OF HOPE:
The good news witnessed during the tour is the effective reopening of Presbyterian High School (PHS) Andek, where the mission met a handful of teachers and administrators on campus preparing to receive students.
We congratulate them and call on all other schools to emulate them.
School doors are open. Teachers are ready. Let us send our children to school.
