ANDEK COUNCIL SIGNS CONVENTION WITH PROLOG FOR KEY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
The Lord mayor of Andek Council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly Manyelle Akoba, was amongst some Mayors of the North West, who last April 30th 2026 signed a conventions with PROLOG, marking a significant milestone in the municipality’s development journey. This partnership will bring to life five additional crucial projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.
The following councils participated in this signing ceremony: Andek, Bamenda 3, Njinikom, Ndu and Widikum.
The projects, valued at 123,196,913 FCFA, are funded through the Community Investment Support Grants (CISG) window and include:
– Road Infrastructure: Pavement of 1,960 m2 of road with reinforced concrete at Andek commercial street, towards Abang Quarter
– Water Supply: Rehabilitation of the potable water schemes, by gravity, of the following neighborhoods of Ajei village: Akye, Unooh, Edanghi and rehabilitation of Achang potable water scheme
– Sanitation: Construction of a modern toilet at Andek Central area and construction of a modern, resilient, and inclusive toilet at GBS Bonatu
This funding builds on Andek Council’s previous success with the Performance-Based Grant (PBG) from PROLOG, which supported the rehabilitation of the Abebung Water scheme, currently nearing completion. These two funding sources total approximately 158,000,000 FCFA, demonstrating PROLOG’s confidence in Andek Council’s ability to drive development.
“We are committed to leveraging these funds to improve living conditions and look forward to qualifying for additional PBG funding in the future,” said Lord Mayor Ubangoh Helly Mayelle.
