Lord Mayor of Andek council, Mr. Ubangoh HELLY, on Wednesday, 8th April, 2026, visited a disaster zone in Bonambufei Village.
On Wednesday, 8th April 2026, the Lord Mayor of Andek Municipality, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, paid an official visit to Bonambufei village to assess the extent of damage caused by a recent wind disaster.
The windstorm severely affected parts of the community, notably, blowing off a section of the roof of the Presbyterian Church, Bonambufei, and damaging the homes of two individuals, both identified as widows and vulnerable persons.
Upon arrival, the Lord Mayor was warmly received by the representative of the neighborhood coordinator, the Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church Bonambufei, Mr. ABAH Elias, and some local elites.
During the visit, the Mayor carried out an on-site inspection of the affected areas to better understand the level of destruction.
Following this assessment, he instructed the Council Development Officer (CDO), Mr. Ngu Frankline, to conduct a detailed evaluation of the damages.
This evaluation is intended to guide the council in determining the appropriate assistance to be provided, especially considering the vulnerable condition of the affected individuals.
The visit concluded on a spiritual note with a word of prayer offered by an elite, Rev. Andongatou Isau, who expressed gratitude to God for using the Lord Mayor as an instrument to serve the people of Ngie with compassion and dedication.
Overall, the visit demonstrates the council’s commitment to respond promptly to community challenges and supporting vulnerable citizens in times of need.
